Fans attending Barry Manilow’s shows this week at the O2 in London can’t find enough ways to say how phenomenal the shows are. They want to be sure Barry knows how much they are appreciating every note of every song he’s giving them, as he has unearthed many of the rarely-heard songs from his tremendous catalog that we have not heard live for a very long time–or, for some fans, ever.

The opinion is unanimous among Barry Manilow’s fans here in the United States; hearing how phenomenal his show was in London, we can’t believe we’re here and not there! Janet, my foreign correspondent, sent me her review of the show as soon as she got back to her hotel, far too rushed with adrenaline to sleep. Arriving at the Paris Las Vegas at 7:20 for a 7:30 show—thankfully the son was driving, dropping me off at the door—would normally cause stress, but it didn’t this time. I’ve come to know that when it has to do with Barry Manilow, things work out perfectly.

Barry Manilow’s show last Friday was the perfect end to a lovely week with my dear friend, Janet Fauret who travels tri-yearly from France to see Barry in Las Vegas. Of course the show was fabulous, again; it’s easy to get spoiled seeing Barry two weekends in a row, which I can’t do too often.

This particular post is nearly book-length. Last Saturday had an extra impact on me and hard as I tried, there was nothing I could cut. Perhaps it’s because I’ve not seen Barry’s show for three months; perhaps it’s the season that caused me to dig deeper.
